Any insight into the status of my laptop’s problem would be greatly appreciated. Apple A1344 60W MagSafe Power Adapter for MacBook and MacBook Pro. I have not had the ability to cross-check my power cable with another one, but I doubt that the cable is the issue seeing as it was working fine last night. It does not appear that the laptop is charging when the power cable is plugged directly into either of the laptop’s USB-C ports. When the power cable is plugged into the HyperDrive, the LED turns on even if the hub is not connected to the laptop. The trackpad and all of the keyboard buttons are completely unresponsive. When I awoke this morning, the LED was still on but my laptop was totally dead. The blue LED on the HyperDrive was on, which I took as an indication that the laptop was still charging. Before going to sleep I disconnected the iPhone but left the HyperDrive connected to the laptop. Apple recommends pairing this power adapter with your 16-inch MacBook Pro (2021) using a USB-C to MagSafe 3 Cable to take advantage of fast charging, so you can go from 0 to 50 percent charge in around 30 minutes.
The laptop appeared to be charging correctly. It’s compatible with numerous USB-C charging cables. At the time I was using a HyperDrive USB Type-C 5-in-1 Hub to connect my iPhone to the laptop so I plugged my laptop’s USB-C power cable into that device to charge it. Last night I plugged my MacBook in to charge.
